If you ever have the opportunity to go to Rothenburg, Germany take advantage of spending at least one night, and if possible two or three! There are several wonderful places to stay, so I’m sure you won’t go wrong with your choice.
There is so much to see in this beautiful town. Take in the shopping, sights, and don’t miss the night watchman tour every night at 8:00pm (English version). Make sure you have cash, as they don’t accept any credit cards and wear comfy shoes since it’s an outside walking tour. It only lasts about an hour, but is definitely worth your time! This gives you not only a tour of the town, but also gives you an understanding of the history behind it.
If you are like I was by the time I got to Rothenburg, you might be ready for something like a burger to eat. If so, there was a wonderful place called Rottenburger that you should try. The burgers and fries were delicious! Also, for dinner I recommend you make a reservation for Zur Holl. The food and atmosphere are wonderful! i had the skewers and would highly recommend them!
Enjoy the town, shopping, and food. It’s one of my favorites that I’ve visited!
